Like I mentioned in my previous Beauty Box 5 post, the August box is my last box that I will receive from Beauty Box 5 because I terminated my subscription. Before I get into what I unboxed, I just wanted to mention that I cancelled my subscription because I want to expand my horizons and try a new subscription service. I’ve been receiving Beauty Box 5 boxes for half a year now and although I love the products that they send me every month, I want to spend my money on boxes that feature more than just beauty products. It’s nothing against Beauty Box 5, I just want a change!
If you’re not familiar with Beauty Box 5, it’s a beauty subscription service that ships out of Texas that includes 5 deluxe beauty samples (and sometimes full sized products) that can be haircare, skincare, or makeup products. For $12 a month (free shipping in the USA), it’s a great way to try out products that you might not reach for on your own. Beauty Box 5 typically is sent out at the beginning of every month, but I didn’t receive this box until halfway into the next month.

1) La Fresh Travel Lite Makeup Remover Wipes
Full size: 48 packets – $19.99
These makeup removing wipes claim to be powerful enough to remove waterproof makeup but gentle enough to not leave skin feeling irritated. I haven’t tried the wipes out yet because I’m currently working through a new pack of Neutrogena wipes, but I’m excited to do so because they smell fresh, they’re oil free, and they’re formulated without parabens.
2) Nanacoco Lip Gloss – Mysterious
Full size: 0.22 fl oz – $3.99
For once I received a wearable lip color in my Beauty Box 5 (better late than never, I suppose)! This stunning fuchsia pink-purple lip gloss is a very flattering shade for my skin tone and it’s one that I can sport on it’s own or over top of a similar lipstick color. It has a creamy, non-drying formula, a coconut scent, and it’s NOT sticky. Overall, this full sized product was a complete win.
3) Novex Brazilian Keratin
Full size: 2 lbs – $19.50
This product claims to work on all hair types and it’s supposed to renew and reinforce hair strands right away. Beauty Box 5 recommends massaging it into your scalp and leaving it in for 25 minutes before rinsing. Because my hair is feeling very healthy, I’m going to be saving this product for the colder months when it gets dry and straggly.
4) Style Essentials Nail Polish – (Name not listed)
Full size: 4 nail polish collection – $7.00
When I opened up this month’s box, the first item that caught my eye was this glittery baby blue nail polish. I love receiving full sized nail polishes in my box and this month’s color is absolutely gorgeous. This polish is meant to be a top coat and it will add the perfect holographic, iridescent shine touch to my nails. This color is definitely one that I’ll be reaching for during the holiday season, as it reminds me of snowflakes and iceicles!
5) Purlisse Pur Protect SPF 30 Sunscreen
Full size: 1.7 oz – $55.00
Who says no to another sunscreen sample? Not me! This sunscreen is for normal to dry skin and it’s has Vitamin E and soy proteins in it to make your skin feel and look softer. It also has White Tea to calm your skin and it has a grease-free application. A full size bottle is definitely on the pricy end, but this sunscreen is effective, it doesn’t have a scent, and it leaves your face feeling like you’re not wearing anything at all.
That’s it for last month’s Beauty Box 5! I really enjoyed my last Beauty Box 5 and although it’s sad that I won’t be receiving another box, I’m excited to post a first impressions or an unboxing of my next beauty subscription service box.
